Today, as you walk the paths around these beautiful lakes, you may hear music drifting through the summer air.
It’s all part of the Lake Sing — a spontaneous celebration of music, community, and kindness on this beautiful (and yes, very hot!) summer solstice day.
There are 20 musicians playing around the three lakes—Lake Harriet, Bde Maka Ska, and Lake of the Isles — each sharing their voices and instruments simply to add a little joy, goodness, and beauty to the world.
You’re invited to enjoy the music, take in the moment, and if you’re moved, make a donation to support the Joyce Uptown Food Shelf—a local organization helping our neighbors in need.

Performer Meetup Afterwards
After the lakeside performances wrap up, all participants are encouraged to gather at the Lake Harriet Bandshell at 3:30 PM for an informal meet-up and some collaborative group music.
